About Me
BeliefsI believe that all students have unique talents and abilities. Each student's contributions to the classroom are valuable and are to be respected. It is my responsibility to create an environment in which students are free to take risks, feel safe, and feel valued. I am not only responsible for teaching standards. I strongly believe in character education and social emotional learning as well. I believe that students will rise or fall to your expectations. Therefore, I hold high expectations for all students. I appreciate your support in helping our children become responsible, respectful, and productive citizens. Background/Family I was born and raised in Henderson, NC. I graduated from Southern Vance High School in 1998 and then attended The University of North Carolina at Charlotte. I began my teaching career in Charlotte and taught there for four years before teaching in Wake County. This will be my 20th year in education! My husband and I have a daughter in third grade. She is a ball of energy and keeps us going. I enjoy spending quality time with my family on weekends and holidays. I love amusement parks, scrapbooking, and watching HGTV. |
